The Downfall

I used to really, really, adore Marc Jacobs. I used to think he was an intrepid visionary, not afraid of venturing into uncharted waters. But lately, to put it bluntly, I'm so sick of him. Even saying the name Marc Jacobs sounds so sickly. And I can't put all the blame on him, (though his latest collections have been so uninspiring) but his brand is sooooo over-exposed and ubiquitous. Nowadays people seem to just want to talk about it to get into the cool scene, and unfortunately, it really has tarnished his brand image.

It seems that celebrities eager to shamelessly hail themselves as fashion icons use him as their fastest way to style stardom. Well, ultimately, that just makes me lose respect for him. All the high fashion, all the class, all the fabulousity, all gone. Why couldn't you have just stayed with Sofia?!?!?! Not saying though that there aren't still die hard fans of Marc out there, I'm pretty sure there are still millions, considering how commercial it's gone!

Present accolades of mine, ie Christopher Bailey, Francisco Costa, I hope you don't suffer similar fates, you know, since Marc is really a trendsetter.

Oh, and 'Kevin Federline' attending his fw08 show practically sealed the deal.
